The Oklahoma Democratic Party Elects New Officers

OKLAHOMA CITY OK, June 14, 2021 – Oklahoma State Democratic delegates elected new leadership this past weekend and re-elected Alicia Andrews of Tulsa as the 2021-2023 Oklahoma Democratic Party Chair with 65% of the vote.

In 2019 Andrews, a local Realtor and former Tulsa County Democratic Party Secretary, was elected as the first African American and first African American Women in Oklahoma history to chair the Oklahoma Democratic Party. Andrews earned her degree in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma and has been a Real Estate Consultant for nearly 14 years.

Former Oklahoma Representative Eric Proctor from Tulsa will be Vice-Chair. Rachael Hunsucker, an accountant from Coweta, has held the Treasurer’s seat for the past four years was re-elected as Treasurer. Nana Dankwa, Oklahoma City Council 2021 candidate, won the Secretary seat.

Jekia Harrison of Oklahoma City and Ali Canada from Tulsa were elected to serve as State Affirmative Action members. The state delegates will reconvene within 30 days of the convention to elect two additional State Affirmative Action members and finish business.
