Operations Director The Oklahoma Democratic Party, the state-wide organization responsible for mobilizing Democrats is looking for an Operations Director in Oklahoma City.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supporting the Executive Director in managing the following tasks for the ODP: manage accounts payable, handle government filings, maintain office calendar, incoming and outgoing mail delivery, supply inventory, and general office maintenance, including preparation for guests, and answering the main phone line.
      • Organizing, prioritizing, and responding to large volumes of information, calls, emails, and faxes.
      • Assist Treasurer and Executive Director with office financial activities, invoices, budgets, accounts, contracts, and agreements.
      • Must be familiar with campaign compliance at both the State and Federal level.
      • File all taxes, FEC, OEC, and other governmental documents.
      • Managing and maintaining relationships with property management and maintenance.
      • Procuring and maintaining office equipment/supplies and support Executive Director in managing vendor relationships.
      • Prepare for Central Committee meetings, ODP conferences/conventions, and other events, and to facilitate effective communications, both internally and externally.
      • Special projects as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED
      • Demonstrated commitment to promoting progressive values and causes.
      • Two years relevant work experience, preferably in operations, office management, and human resources, background in politically-oriented non-profits or campaigns a very strong plus.
      • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail, and ability to follow through. Strong verbal, written, research, and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work under pressure and remain flexible and adaptable as needs and priorities change.

VAN/Data Director The Oklahoma Democratic Party, the state-wide organization responsible for mobilizing Democrats is looking for an VAN/Data Director in Oklahoma City.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with the Executive Director.
  • Work closely with ODP staff and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive statewide data training program and analyze programs across departments to maximize efficiency and efficacy.
  • Manage the Data and IT needs of the ODP and assist as needed to address any problems.
  • Serve as primary administrator for Votebuilder (VAN) and handle all administrative functions.
  • Create and implement VAN policy, in consolation with the Executive Director.
  • Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades.
  • Manage training of new users, and grow VAN skill set across the organization.
  • Additional duties as determined by the Executive Director, including but not limited to travel to Democratic meetings on behalf of the party, working with the Democratic Caucuses of the Oklahoma State Legislature, serving as liaison to the DNC and its partners, assisting with communications, outreach, and other departments as needed.
  • Assist the ODP with DNC Delegate Selection Plan.
  • Assist the State Secretary with creating and maintaining digital archives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES DESIRED
  • Minimum two cycles of experience working on issue or electoral campaigns.
  • Minimum two cycles working Data or Field.
  • Proficient in SQL.
  • Knowledge working with GIS, SPSS, or other data analysis tools.

Field Director The Oklahoma Democratic Party, the state-wide organization responsible for mobilizing Democrats is looking for a Field Director in Oklahoma City.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for executing statewide organizing and electoral programs in individual regions across Oklahoma.
  • Work to build local grassroots programs, including direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment and retention, development of training with county parties, and overseeing the testing of field techniques and tactics.
  • Implement grassroots field tactics, including phone banks and canvasses, organizing community gatherings, and local issues forums.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting and organizing follow-up of volunteers for further outreach activities.
  • Train, coach, and mentor Field Organizes, canvassers, and volunteers in best practices for volunteer recruitment, retention, and mobilization.
  • Create specific accountability measures to identify areas of Ensure all voter contact data is entered into the campaign data platform.
  • Engage with local stakeholders and community organizations to build support.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED
  • At least two cycles of campaign experience.

Development/Finance Director The Oklahoma Democratic Party, the state-wide organization responsible for mobilizing Democrats is looking for a Development/Finance Director in Oklahoma City.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with the Executive Director.
Fundraising
  • Assist the Executive Director, Treasurer and consultants with the development and implementation of the ODP fundraising plan.
  • Maintain the ODP's NGP donor database.
  • Track progress of program and produce regular reports for the Executive Director, Treasurer and Chair, the Central Committee and the Finance Committee.
  • Work with the Executive Director in developing programming budgets for the Party.
  • Work with the Treasurer and compliance staff to ensure accuracy on all FEC and Oklahoma Ethics Commission reports and appropriately solicit, track and report campaign finance contributions and expenditures.
  • Research current and prospective high donors.
  • Oversee call time for Chair, ODP officers, Executive Director, and surrogates as needed.
  • Coordinate fundraising activities.
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and managing of both large and small fundraising events and track.
  • Provide accurate and timely administrative support to Chair regarding donor solicitation, follow-up letters, thank you letters, and tracking sponsors.
  • Coordinate effective prospective research.
  • Coordinate and manage direct mail program.
  • Coordinate with Communications Director to raise online contributions through innovative direct email solicitations, popular social media posts, online ads, and high-quality web pages.
Financial Management
  • Assist with deposits (including copies/other documentation to support campaign finance reports).
Legal Compliance
  • Record donor information as required by law.
  • Prepare "best efforts" letters to collect missing donor information.
  • Assist Treasurer and compliance officers in preparation of state and federal campaign finance reports.
  • Work closely with legal counsel on all state and federal compliance issues.
  • Work with Treasurer to prepare and provide materials for annual audit. Review Party communications for appropriate disclaimers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED
  • Hold at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a similar field.
  • Strong commitment to electing Democrats.
  • Be resourceful and able to solve problems on one's own ability to set and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office environment with many distractions.
  • Experience with Oklahoma VAN, NGP, and other campaign and finance databases.
  • Must have a car, car insurance, and driver's license (position will require travel around the state). Have previous work experience with the Democratic Party or a political campaign.
  • Experience working with QuickBooks
  • Prior experience in targeting donors with thorough follow-up.
  • An understanding of federal and/or state election and campaign finance law is preferred.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of the structure and workings of the Democratic Party in Oklahoma.

Office Generalist

  The Oklahoma Democratic Party is seeking an Office Generalist to work from ODP’s headquarters in Oklahoma City. This is a full-time, temporary job that will begin as soon as a candidate is hired.
The position requires superb organizational skills, maturity, the ability to change directions at a moment’s notice, and the belief that Democrats can and will make a positive difference in the lives of all Oklahomans. This position will provide the individual with critical skills necessary to work in a political environment.
Some of the duties include: Responding to donor emails, modifying monthly donor amounts, processing of credit information for funds received at events, proofreading, supporting the Chair with call time, assisting the Executive Director with special projects, ability to learn VAN and offer occasional technical support, answering phones and directing callers, taking minutes at meetings, helping develop/staff fundraising events.

The intern who fills this position should expect to learn the field from top to bottom and will complete this program ready to enter any political organization with excellent skills.
Interns have the opportunity to be involved in various parts of the campaign, not limited to field, finance, press, or social media work. The Oklahoma Democratic Party is looking for a minimum commitment of between five (5) and sixteen hours for ten to twelve weeks. We will work with your school to provide academic credit if applicable.
