THUNDER Basketball’s Russell Westbrook and NEEDS Foundation Shoot to End Hunger

(Oklahoma City, OK) Tomorrow evening at 7 PM state Rep. Richard Morrissette will assume M.C. duties at a very special watch party to cheer on “the team” and highlight the work of the NEEDS Foundation, the charity of THUNDER Basketball’s Russell Westbrook.

The NEEDS Foundation, an organization working to address hunger in Oklahoma and endorsed by Westbrook, will host a THUNDER Basketball watch party for game four of the NBA Finals at Rod Myers’ Deep Fork Grill, Western and I-44.

The NEEDS Foundation collects, and redistributes at no charge, unserved food from area restaurants to provide for Oklahomans struggling to obtain basic nutrition.

“Oklahoma is one of the hungriest places in the U.S. Many of our children and senior citizens average only one meal a day,” said state Rep.Richard Morrissette (D-OKC)

“We throw away millions of pounds of unserved restaurant food every year that is safe and nutritious. The NEEDS Foundation has developed strong relationships with area restaurants and they work very hard to maintain a set of safety standards for transport of donated goods. Russell Westbrook is now the spokesperson for this worthy charity and I commend him for his efforts.”

Morrissette will stand in for Westbrook at the event to act as M.C.  For more information or to attend the watch party, an RSVP is required by calling (405) 625-7705.

“I encourage THUNDER fans to attend. It will be a fun evening!” said Morrissette.
