Stitt Sullies Medicaid Expansion Efforts

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Democratic Party calls for Governor Stitt to place State Question 802 – Medicaid Expansion on the ballot without further delay.

During a statewide healthcare crisis, rural hospitals closing, people dying, and reduced healthcare resources Stitt is busy playing partisan politics with peoples’ lives by not expanding Medicaid. Stitt and his Republican cohorts continue to sully expansion efforts by introducing an alternate plan that limits life-saving care. It’s time to put SQ802 on the ballot and let the people vote.

Not only would expanding Medicaid bring more than a billion of our tax dollars back to Oklahoma, we would bring healthcare to nearly 200,000 of our friends and families right here in our own state. Expanding Medicaid makes our state healthier and stronger.

The Oklahoma Democratic Party calls on Governor Stitt to immediately put State Question 802 on the ballot and let voters make their voices heard. We encourage voters to contact Governor Stitt’s office at (405) 521-2342 and demand that he put State Question 802 – Medicaid Expansion on the ballot now.
