Stitt Responsible for Over 12K COVID Deaths
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, JANUARY 31, 2021 – When Oklahoma is ranked as the #1 worst state to live in during the COVID pandemic, responsibility for over 12K COVID deaths falls at the top of our state leadership – Stitt.
“Stitt’s mishandling of this pandemic has cost Oklahoma lives and should be a red flag on how completely incompetent this governor is in protecting Oklahomans,” commented Alicia Andrews, Chair of the Oklahoma Democratic Party. “Stitt has led the charge in spreading misinformation and not shutting down his Republican cohorts from spewing lies about COVID treatments, vaccine efficacy, and the science behind wearing masks
“All of our elected officials should be working together to do everything possible to protect the health and safety of our citizens. Obviously, coming in 1st for the worst state to live in during the pandemic is not protecting families.
“Businesses, pharmacies, and schools have closed due to the fast spreading Omicron variant and the large number of people out sick with COVID. With only 55% of Oklahomans fully vaccinated, the virus is going to continue spreading, mutating, and killing more Oklahomans until we have leadership that takes their responsibility seriously,” Andrews continued.
“Suppose Stitt was a proactive governor, not caught up in the irrational far-right conservative political movement squashing legitimate science-based truths? How many lives could we have saved here in Oklahoma?
“Facts seem to elude this leader’s ability to handle a crisis. We cannot let such incompetence go unnoticed this election year. Oklahoma deserves better, and come November, we must elect new leadership who cares about public safety, not childish political agendas,” Andrews concluded.
