Rep. Young Nominated for State Governments Policy Academy

OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. George Young recently was nominated to participate in the Council of State Governments (CSG) Policy Academy: Promising Approaches for America’s Addiction Crisis. The policy academy is taking place on Wednesday, Dec. 5, during the Council of State Governments 2018 National Conference in Northern Kentucky – greater Cincinnati.

Dr. Young already participates as a leader on several panels. This nomination affords him the opportunity to continue to represent Oklahoma on a national scale. Dr. Young was selected as one of the nominees in 2016 as a CSG Toll Fellow, a prestigious honor – numerous people in leadership positions apply and only 48 are chosen from across the United States.

“It will give me great pleasure to gain an overview from the national level of the initiatives, information and prospective measures available to further instill hope and garner uplifting change for Oklahomans affected by addiction,” said Young, R-Oklahoma City. “I will then be able to provide an outline and summary of those things being worked on and how we can work together with state and nonprofit agencies to continue rebuilding and strengthening Oklahoma families and communities for the enhancement of our great state.”
