Nichols Sees FDA Approval as Milestone in Fight Against COVID

OKLAHOMA CITY — Rep. Monroe Nichols, D-Tulsa, released the following statement encouraging Oklahomans to get vaccinated and highlighting the significance of the FDA’s full approval of the Pfizer COVID vaccine.

“The speed the medical and scientific communities have moved to create and provide this vaccine to the American public has been historic as well as lifesaving,” Nichols said. “More than half of eligible Americans have been vaccinated. With the Delta Variant, it is scary to think about what today would look like without a vaccine.

“Oklahoma still has work to do. Despite recent success in getting people to get vaccinated, a majority of our eligible population remains unvaccinated. The vaccine has proved to be the safest way to protect yourself and others from death or serious illness due to COVID.

“We are duty-bound as Americans to do all we can to preserve our way of life. Please, do your part in combating this virus and get vaccinated.”
