New Oklahoma Democratic Party Promotions and New Hire

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, FEBRUARY 3, 2022 – The Oklahoma Democratic Party announced today the promotion of Tucker Gambill from Deputy Outreach Director to Data Director, Eric Smith from Deputy Development Director to Field Director, and the new hire, Taylor-Rae West, as our General Staffer.

Tucker Gambill joined the Oklahoma Democratic Party as Deputy Data Director in 2019 and transitioned to Deputy Outreach Director in 2021. He studied political science at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas–where he served as President of the John Brown University Young Democrats. While in school, Tucker studied abroad in Northern Ireland and Jordan. He recently worked as a field organizer for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s 2020 presidential campaign in New Hampshire.

After working eight years as a campaign professional in Oklahoma, Eric Smith joined ODP at the start of 2021 as our Deputy Development Director. A Tulsa native, Eric began his involvement in the Democratic Party in 2006 when he first volunteered with the Tulsa County Democrats and local mayoral and legislative races. Since then, he has held various positions within the Party at the precinct and county level and currently serves as immediate past President of the Oklahoma Stonewall Democratic Federation. Professionally, Eric has staffed and managed local, state legislative, tribal, statewide, and presidential campaigns, all focusing on organizing fellow Oklahoma Democrats.

Taylor-Rae West joins the Oklahoma Democratic Party as our new Generalist Staffer after working for J.P. Morgan Chase Travel. A Tulsa native, Taylor began his career in politics in 2017 after being appointed Tulsa MLK Youth Ambassador President in 2017 and the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce Internship Program Coordinator. Since then, he has volunteered in the gubernatorial, senate, house, and mayoral races. Currently, Taylor serves as the Executive Assistant to Bishop Francine Brookins Esq, of Los Angeles, CA, Young Democrats of Oklahoma Black Caucus Chair, College Democrats of Oklahoma Director of IDEA, and College Democrats of America Faith Caucus Chair.
