Data/Voter File Manager The Oklahoma Democratic Party, the state-wide organization responsible for mobilizing Democrats is looking for a Data/Voter File Manager in Oklahoma City.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with ODP staff and stakeholders to develop a comprehensive statewide data training program and analyze programs across departments to maximize efficiency and efficacy.
  • Manage the Data and IT needs of the ODP and assist as needed to address any problems.
  • Serve as primary administrator for Votebuilder (VAN) and handle all administrative functions.
  • Monitor, evaluate and implement VAN policy, in consultation with the Executive Director.
  • Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades.
  • Manage training of new users, and grow the VAN skill set across the organization.
  • Additional duties as determined by Executive Director, including but not limited to travel to Democratic meetings on behalf of the party, working with the Democratic Caucuses of the Oklahoma State Legislature, serving as liaison to the DNC and its partners, assisting with communications, outreach, and other departments as needed.
  • Assist the ODP with DNC Delegate Selection Plan.
  • Assist the State Secretary with creating and maintaining digital archives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED
  • Must have a tremendous commitment to providing superb customer service.
  • Two cycles working Data or Field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong Experience with Excel or other data tools.
  • Experience with administrative tools in VAN, plus build custom reports, crosstabs, fields, processes and work flows, custom scores, and other content of intermediate complexity.
  • Experience with a ticketing system to track user support requests.
  • Preference for some experience with SQL and BigQuery/Phoenix in particular.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, GIS, or data visualization are a strong plus.
  • Excellent project management skills and a positive attitude.
  • Experience training people from diverse backgrounds and at various skill levels.
  • Ability to communicate technical subjects to a wide audience in a clear, succinct manner.
  • Creative and analytical thinking with strong problem-solving skills.

Director of Development/Field/External Relations The Oklahoma Democratic Party, the state-wide organization responsible for mobilizing Democrats is looking for a Field Director in Oklahoma City. The focus of this position is two-fold: 1. Provide superb resources to elected officials, candidates, county parties, Party federations, and allied groups by developing, updating, and implementing statewide field campaigns to help elect more Democrats at every level of government. 2. Support the Chair and Executive Director in all financial development efforts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for executing statewide organizing and electoral programs in individual regions across Oklahoma.
  • Work to build local grassroots programs, including direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment and retention, development of training with county parties, and overseeing the testing of field techniques and tactics.
  • Implement grassroots field tactics, including phone banks and canvasses, organizing community gatherings, and local issues forums.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting and organize follow-up of volunteers for further outreach activities.
  • Train, coach, and mentor Field Organizes, canvassers, and volunteers in best practices for volunteer recruitment, retention, and mobilization.
  • Create specific accountability measures to identify areas to ensure all voter contact data is entered into the campaign data platform.
  • Engage with local stakeholders and community organizations to build support.
  • Assist the Chair, Executive Director, Treasurer, and Finance Committee with the development and implementation of the ODP fundraising plan.
  • Maintain the ODP’s NGP donor database.
  • Track progress of program and produce regular reports for the Executive Director and Chair.
  • Work with the Executive Director in developing programming budgets for the Party.
  • Research current and prospective high donors.
  • Oversee call time for Chair, ODP officers, Executive Director, and surrogates as needed.
  • Coordinate fundraising activities.
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and managing of both large and small fundraising events and track.
  • Coordinate effective prospective research.
  • Coordinate and manage direct mail program.
  • Coordinate with Communications Director to raise online contributions through innovative direct email solicitations, popular social media posts, online ads, and high-quality web pages.
  • Record donor information as required by law.
  • Prepare “best efforts” letters to collect missing donor information.
  • Assist Treasurer and compliance officers in preparation of state and federal campaign finance reports.
  • Work closely with legal counsel on all state and federal compliance issues.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED
  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a similar field.
  • Strong commitment to electing Democrats.
  • Be resourceful and able to solve problems on one’s own ability to set and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office environment with many distractions.
  • Experience with Oklahoma VAN, NGP, and other campaign and finance databases.
  • Must have a car, car insurance, and driver’s license (position will require travel around the state). Have previous work experience with the Democratic Party or a political campaign.
  • Experience working with QuickBooks
  • Prior experience in targeting donors with thorough follow-up.
  • An understanding of federal and/or state election and campaign finance law is preferred.
  • Possess strong knowledge of the structure and workings of the Democratic Party in Oklahoma.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the political landscape and key people/organizations in Oklahoma is a plus.
  • Experience with political fundraising is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, NGP, and VAN.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as needed.

General Office Staffer

  The Oklahoma Democratic Party is seeking an Office Generalist to work from ODP’s headquarters in Oklahoma City. This is a full-time, temporary job that will begin as soon as a candidate is hired.
The position requires superb organizational skills, maturity, the ability to change directions at a moment’s notice, and the belief that Democrats can and will make a positive difference in the lives of all Oklahomans. This position will provide the individual with critical skills necessary to work in a political environment.
Some of the duties include: Responding to donor emails, modifying monthly donor amounts, processing of credit information for funds received at events, proofreading, supporting the Chair with call time, assisting the Executive Director with special projects, ability to learn VAN and offer occasional technical support, answering phones and directing callers, taking minutes at meetings, helping develop/staff fundraising events.

The intern who fills this position should expect to learn the field from top to bottom and will complete this program ready to enter any political organization with excellent skills.
Interns have the opportunity to be involved in various parts of the campaign, not limited to field, finance, press, or social media work. The Oklahoma Democratic Party is looking for a minimum commitment of between five (5) and sixteen hours for ten to twelve weeks. We will work with your school to provide academic credit if applicable.
