The Creek County Democrats will meet Thursday, September 19, at the Bristow Community Center, 417 N. Chestnut. That’s the Southeast corner of 10th and Chestnut.
Our speaker this month will be Sarah Baker, Acting Executive Director of the Oklahoma Democratic Party. She will be advising us on how to recruit candidates for office.
We eat at 6:00 p.m., and begin the meeting at about 6:30. There is no charge to attend the meeting, but we are asking for a $2 per person donation to help pay for the venue. If we raise more than the needed $50, any extra will be donated to the Scholarship Fund.
We are also still looking for volunteers to work the Creek County Fair, September 19 – 22, as well as the Mounds Car Show and Drumright Oilpatch Jamboree, both October 5. You can sign up for these events at the meeting, or call Events Chair Fran Redding at 918-693-3520 to select a date and time slot.
It’s Pot Luck this month, so bring something to share. Cups, plates, utensils, Coffee, water, and ice will be provided. If you don’t want to eat, come early to chat with your fellow Dems. In fact, whether you eat or not, come a little early to help us set up. (Thank you.)
If there is enough interest, we can arrange a 30 minute training session for those who want to circulate petitions to get State Question 802, Medicaid Expansion, on the ballot in 2020.
For more information about the meeting, call Stan Johnson at 918-227-1586, or Naomi Mendus at 918-760-3876. Or check our Facebook page, Creek County Democrats.
See you there!
