House Minority Leader Scott Inman – State Capitol News Conference

House Minority Leader Scott Inman, in a State Capitol news conference Thursday, said ‘serious conversations’ about raising gross production taxes are under way; House Democrats are negotiating their support for an increase in the cigarette tax in exchange for an increase in gross production taxes; ‘the vast majority’ of an increase in motor fuels taxes would be ‘borne by the citizens of this state’; 22 ‘far-right members’ of the Republican Party want to balance the state budget by “gutting” $328 million from Higher Education and handing over non-English speaking students to ICE to determine whether they “truly are” American citizens who have to be educated by Oklahoma taxpayers.
