The Oklahoma Democratic Party Welcomes New Field Staff

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Democratic Party announces new field staff as part of the Resistance Summer program.

The Resistance Summer program is a national initiative to resist Trump’s attacks on working families, train and organize grassroots movements and help elect Democrats across the United States. The ODP welcomes our new field staff members, Melanie Slates and Kornelius Morgan.

Melanie Slates from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is a 2014 Harding Fine Arts Academy graduate specializing in both piano and modern dance. She was selected to serve as an intern in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. She moved to Washington D.C where she mentored high school juniors and seniors and even joined a professional dance company. Melanie is working in the Oklahoma City metro area in Senate District 44, Senate District 45, and House District 46.

Kornelius is an Army Reserve Platoon Leader from the Fort Gibson area. He attended Northeastern State, is a Tulsa Young Democrats Community Outreach Coordinator, and the 163 Precinct Chair. Kornelius is working in the Tulsa metro area in House District 75, House District 76, and Senate District 37.

The Oklahoma Democratic Party is excited to have Melanie and Kornelius on our team working to accomplish our goals.
