Oklahoma Democratic Party Will Participate
In Neighbor to Neighbor Organizing Day

Oklahoma State Democratic Party Chair Lisa Pryor today announced that the ODP will participate in the Democratic National Committee's National Neighbor-to-Neighbor Organizing Day on Saturday, April 29, 2006. The events on April 29th will kick-off a national effort by volunteers across the nation and in Oklahoma who will go door-to-door to talk with their neighbors about the Democratic Party's bold vision for America based on honest leadership and real security. Across Oklahoma organizers have set up events and have already sign-up numerous volunteers.

"This unprecedented effort will get the party geared up for the November elections and will show that when Democrats work together to organize at the grass roots and precinct level we can and will win elections," Pryor said. "The Democratic National Organizing Day will play a key role in galvanizing Democrats statewide and promoting our party's agenda."

This grassroots event represents an important next step in the DNC's 50 State Partnership Project, a partnership between the national and state Democratic Party that has provided the ODP staff and resources to help elect Democrats in Oklahoma.

Pryor said the April 29 event is the first of three national organizing drives that are a key part of building strong Election Day teams for 2006 and beyond. Democratic volunteers are working in their communities to organize and mobilize volunteers and voters.
